Mission Statement

To bring Christ culture and nerd culture together, reaching the fan community with the love of Jesus in a way that speaks to their hearts—breaking down misconceptions among those who don’t believe, and to inspire believers in that space to shine their light, and pointing all people toward God’s glory.

Vision Statement

We envision a global community where geeks, gamers, and fans experience the transforming love of Jesus, see that they are fully known and deeply loved by God, and boldly live out their faith within their fandoms—changing the culture from the inside out.

Our (not-so-secret) Origin

The Nerd of Godcast launched in August 2015 in Orlando, FL with one simple idea: create a community in that spot of the Venn Diagram of life where faith meets fandom. From day one, host Tony Talavera and the crew set out to talk comics, games, movies, tabletop, and more—through a Christ-centered lens that’s fun, welcoming, and unashamed.

What We Do

Each episode blends lively banter, games, and deep dives into pop culture with practical discipleship… Sunday morning values, Saturday Morning fun. We create a safe space for nerds and geeks to explore topics on faith through our shared cultural lens. We like to think of ourselves as FCA for indoor kids!

Community: The NOG Squad

Beyond the mic, our heartbeat is community. We’ve ministered at live gatherings like churches and fan conventions such as Megacon, Florida Anime Expo, and Conjure, to name a few. The NOG Squad is our online hub for encouragement, where listeners become friends and friends become family.
